Due to overnight snowfall and the hazardous driving conditions in the local community, NAS Whidbey Island is shifting to Mission-Essential personnel (MEP) only for Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021.
- The CYP will open at 8:30 a.m. for Mission-Essential Personnel only.
- The galley will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner to support MEP and Sailors living on base.
- The LIBERTY Center will be open from noon-6 p.m. If no Sailors are in LIBERTY or weather worsens the Center will close an hour early.
- All other Fleet & Family Services programs, including the fitness center, are closed.

Wednesday, Dec. 29 | 3 p.m.]:
NAS Whidbey Island plans to be on a two-hour delayed opening for Thursday, Dec. 30, due to lingering and anticipated hazards from the winter storm. Personnel should contact their chain-of-command if unsure of when to report for duty. Fleet & Family Readiness Facilities, including the Fitness Center, will open at 9 a.m. All Child and Youth Programs will open at 8:30 a.m. for child drop off.
Some roads are icy and most are packed with snow. Personnel should use appropriate speeds while driving. Also, be cautious while walking in parking lots and sidewalks that may be icy. Charles Porter and Torpedo gates will be open for full inbound and outbound operations 24/7. Saratoga will open 8 a.m. if conditions permit. Nortz Gate’s opening is to be determined.

NAS Whidbey Island will be on a two-hour delayed opening for Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, due to lingering hazards from the winter storm. Fleet & Family Readiness Facilities, including the Fitness Center, will open at 9 a.m.
- The Golf course is closed until further notice. All Child and Youth Programs will open at 8:30 a.m. for child drop off.
- Child and Youth Programs will open at 0830 for child drop off. Personnel should use an alternate route through housing to get to the Youth Center as Meadow is closed at the entrance to Victory Terrace Housing.
- The Child Development Home Information Night has been postponed until Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022.

Charles Porter and Torpedo gates will be open for full inbound and outbound operations. Langley Blvd. hill will open if it is clear and passable. Torpedo Gate is open for Seaplane Base.

- The galley will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner to support MEP and Sailors living on base.
- The Liberty Center will be open from noon-6 p.m. If no Sailors are in Liberty or weather worsens the Center will close an hour early.

NAS Whidbey Island is now in a Mission Essential Personnel (MEP) reduced operating status due to inclement weather. Charles Porter and Torpedo gates are open; all others closed. MEP should report to work as directed by their unit leadership. All other personnel should contact their chain-of-command for further instructions.
