NAS Whidbey Island will open its doors to the public with an Open House event on August 23, 2025, including a Flight Line 5K! This event is open to all, including non-military affiliated visitors.
On display: Growler (EA-18), PBY Catalina, Sea Guardian MQ-9, Cessna/Skyhawk (C-172), Poseidon (P-8), SAR (H-60), and Cessna Skylane (C-182).
Includes: Growler, Poseidon, SAR, and K9 Unit Demonstrations.
5K Registration starts at 8 a.m. Gates open at 8 a.m. General Public Event is 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

9:00 a.m. The Flight Line 5K Run Kicks Off

10:00 a.m. National Anthem Performed by the Navy Band
10:05 a.m. SAR Demonstration (located between Event Area and Echo)
11:00 a.m. EA-18s/P8 Takeoff
11:15 a.m. Navy Band Performs a 60-Minute Set
11:15 a.m. EA-18/P8 Tower Pattern Observation
12:15 p.m. EA-18/P8 Landing
12:30 p.m. MWD Demonstration
2:00 p.m. The General Public Event Concludes
DIRECTIONS AND SECURITY:
All guests should use Charles Porter Gate to enter the base; you'll be directed where to park.
Due to security measures, the following items are not allowed on the base: drugs or drug paraphernalia (including marijuana products), alcohol, bags larger than 12"x6"x12", backpacks, weapons (including pocket knives), coolers and pets.
Permitted Items: strollers, diaper bags, small women's purses, wheelchairs, bottled water, cameras and video recorders.

PLEASE NOTE: All visitors ages 18 and older without base access will still need to present proper identification at the gates that meet the Real ID requirements.
