The sacrifices you and your family made through this last deployment were undeniably selfless and brave. You’ve been home for one month now and we want to make sure that you are adjusting well! We’ve got a number of program highlights that we are excited about that will support you and your family as you continue to transition onshore.

MWR Highlights

Our MWR Fitness Complexes, Community Recreation Centers and Liberty Centers are all excited to welcome you back. Trips & Tours
White Water Rafting | Saturdays, May 22 & 29, 7 a.m.-8 p.m.

This trip will head to the Wenatchee River outside of Leavenworth Washington for some high adventure rafting down class 3 rapids.

Cost: $72 LIBERTY-eligible, $80 per person. Register the Friday before by calling Bremerton Recreation Center: 360-476-3178 or Bangor Recreation Center: 360-396-2449.

LIBERTY-Tailgate Games | Saturday, May 8, 1-5 p.m.
Drop in at Bremerton’s Fleet Recreation Center for good fun, music and food! Play games like cornhole and spikeball for prizes. Open to Active Duty only.

Speed Date Your Spouse! | Friday, May 7, 6-8 p.m., Bangor Plaza Ballroom
Join us for a fun night of laughter and games that strengthen communication skills. Enjoy a night out with dinner for just $20 per person! Choose from: Chicken Picatta over a bed of couscous with roasted vegetables or Stacked Eggplant Parmigiana (vegetarian) served alongside angel hair pasta. Meal includes Artisan breadsticks and Zabaglione with strawberries for dessert.

Military Spouse Appreciation Day | Friday, May 7, 5-6:30 p.m., Bangor or Bremerton Fitness Centers
Zen your stress away!
Are you a military spouse? Help relieve stress and rejuvenate by joining our yoga class, created especially for you! Light refreshments will be provided.

Family Friday Swim Nights @ Bangor Pool | 3-7 p.m.
By reservation only (1-hour reservations)
Bangor Aquatics Center to close to general use and offer exclusive swim access to Nimitz families only. Two families of up to 10 members (from the same household) per hour in a socially distanced designated area. Call 360-315-2131 to reserve a spot!

Bonding with Bubbles | Wednesday, May 19, 3:30-5:30 p.m., Trident Lakes Recreation Area
Who doesn’t like bubbles? Families will be provided bubble wands. A bubble activity allows baby/child to warm up to the Services Member at their own pace and providing needed space, while bonding at the same time.

Special Event at the Bangor Theater
Doors open at Noon for a 1 p.m. FREE Showing. Sunday, May 21 Harry Potter Sorcerer's Stone. Includes special activities for families, photo ops and surprise guests.

Intramural Sports
Join our golf league where teams of two compete at Gold Mountain Golf Course. Fee is $24 per person each week. Trending, Weekly Disc Golf Program we encourage you to get out and explore the different Disc Golf Courses in Kitsap County. Stop by the Bangor or Bremerton Fitness Centers for a scorecard and discs. Complete your scorecard and enter for a weekly prize drawing.
