(USGA RULES AND COURSE RULES ON THE SCORECARD APPLY)

  1. This tournament is not an official event. The tournament will take place regardless of weather conditions. No refunds or rescheduling will occur unless Gallery Golf Course cancels play.

  2. Tournament format is “Scramble.” Male golfers tee off from the “White Tees, “female golfers from the “Red Tees.” Each person tees off – the best drive is determined. All other balls are picked up and brought to the point of the best drive. Everyone takes his or her second shot from that point (See Rule #3). The process is repeated for each shot (including putting) until the team gets the ball in the cup.

  3. Shots from the fairway, rough or hazard must be played from a point no further than 12 inches from the position of the best ball and within the original condition (i.e., cannot improve lie from the rough to fairway or hazard to the non-hazard or remove an obstruction to the line of play); all putts must be from the same spot on the green.

  4. There is a 2 putt MAXIMUM for each hole so make the first putt count!

  5. Each team must use at least two (2) drives (tee shots) from each participant during the round. Par 3 holes are included in this requirement. (Also see Rule #8)

  6. Winning teams: The total team score will be used to determine order of finish.

  7. Tie Breakers: If two or more teams are tied for the lowest gross score, the team with the low score on the lowest handicap hole (as shown on the scorecard) will be the winner. If two or more teams happen to tie on the lowest handicap hole, they move on to the next lowest handicap hole on the scorecard, where their scores will be compared again. When comparing scores, only teams who tied for the low scores move on to the next hole – all other (if any) drop out.
Team participants do not need to be present at the finish of the tournament to win, but must turn in their card immediately after their 18th hole of play.

  8. Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes. Teams may use any golfer’s drive on prize holes for team scoring purposes.
